Bangladeshi Human rights organizations Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) and JusticeMakers Bangladesh have expressed deep concern over the media exposure the identity of homosexual lesbian girls who has come from Noakhali to meet her girlfrind at Tangail. .
At the same time, BIHR and JusticeMakers Bangladesh have demanded to respect the love of homosexual lesbian teenagers and esure their adiquet and proper security and protection.
According to the news published in different media, it is known that love relationship developed between two teenager girls through Facebook. These two girls have come together after crossing a long distance due to the affection of love. This incident took place on 21 March 2022 ( Monday ) in Basail Upazila of Tangail. A teenage girl of Noakhali Sadar Upazila came to another ninth grade r teenage girl student of Basail Upazila of Tangail district due to the affection of love.
Locals said that they met on Facebook about two years ago. Since then, there is regular communication through Facebook Messenger. As a result of this, a love relationship develops between them. They spent the night at a relative's house in Savar, Dhaka about two months ago due to love.
After that, they went to Chauhali in Sirajganj with a man named Anwar and spent the night. As the locals were suspicious of the behavior of these two girls, the matter was made known in the area. At one point they were returned to the two families in the presence of locals.
Last on March 20, 2022 (Sunday ) evening, the girl from Noakhali came to Tangail town and another girl took her to her house. That very night, when the matter of their unreasonable decision became known in the area, there was a commotion. People flocked to the house to see them. These two girls have decided to get married.
A renowned human rights lawyer and gay rights activist as well as Secretary General of JusticeMakers Bangladesh and BIHR Advocate Shahanur Islam urged to government of Bangladesh to respect and recognise their same-sex love and decision to get marry as a fundamental human right as well as ensure adequet saftey and secuirity to those homosexual minority lesbian girls.
Besides, Advocate Shahanur Islam has strongly demanded the administration to take necessary measures to ensure that the homosexual lesbian teenagers do not suffer any kind of discrimination or violence from the family, society or the state due to their sexual orientation.
